Dr. Megan Monday

I used to think my forties would be about calming down.

Instead, they’ve been about waking up—the era I lovingly call my feral forties.

After years of EMDR sessions, DBT groups, rape prevention research, and leading a holistic treatment center for suicidal patients, I knew everything about surviving and almost nothing about actually feeling good.

I could walk people back from the edge, but no one had given us a roadmap for what to do with our desire, our rage, our creativity, and our hungry, still-very-much-alive bodies.

My feral forties are where that changed.

This is the decade I stopped auditioning for “good therapist,” “good mother,” and “good wife,” and started listening to the part of me that wanted more: more honesty, more travel, more sex, more beauty, more aliveness. The part that didn’t want to burn it all down—but also refused to stay half-asleep.

Now I help other women in their own feral forties:

  • Stop gaslighting themselves about what they really want

  • Integrate trauma work with pleasure, not in opposition to it

  • Turn midlife from a slow fade-out into a wild, holy reintroduction

If your forties feel less like “settling down” and more like “something in me is clawing to get out,” you’re my people.

When you stop abandoning your pleasure, your whole destiny changes.

I work with women standing at thresholds:

divorce papers on the table, hormones in revolt, careers that don’t fit anymore, bedroom stories that feel decades out of date.

We’ve been trained to abandon ourselves:

My work is about calling your pleasure back home — not as a cute extra, but as the most powerful nervous system medicine you have.

You tell the truth.
You leave what’s killing you.
You create what turns you on.
You swap destinies

Because when your body feels safe enough to feel good, you make different choices.
